Permaculture Design Course 2023

  • Started Apr 8
  • 1,200 US dollars
  • Catholic Church Road

Service Description

Permaculture is a design science that aims to create a permanent culture. It is a way of caring for the earth and every living being so that they may continue to thrive indefinitely. Permaculture emphasizes interdependence, diversity, resilience, and regenerative practices. In this 12 part series we will spend 72 hours covering every aspect of permaculture and going step-by-step through hands-on projects. Students will be taught all of the necessary skills to move forward with confidence. Throughout the course, we will be sending students home with new plants and mushroom cultures to incorporate into their own permaculture gardens. Our goal is to empower everyone with knowledge, relationships, and experiences that enable us to live in a way that is harmonious and symbiotic. Over the course of an entire growing season, we will meet the second weekend of each month (April, May, June, August, October and November) for a total of 12 six hour sessions on Saturdays & Sundays. We will explore: -Water management -Soil building -Forest gardening -Microclimates -Perennial vegetables -Plant identification & botany -Fungi for the future -Food preservation -Digital permaculture design -And much, much more. Every day will include some lecture, and lots of time touring and working in the garden. Each weekend we will be visiting a variety of different permaculture sites in the area to better understand how permaculture principles can be applied to any situation. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a Permaculture Design Certificate and the foundational skills to begin practicing permaculture anywhere in the world. There has never been a better time to attend this course… It has been said “the best time to plant a tree is fifty years ago. The second best time is right now.” Come join us as we plant more trees!
