Perennial hardy banana. This is an asian species, Musa basjoo. This species is hardy to zone 6. It rarely produces bananas, but gives your garden a tropical feel and produces large amounts of biomass for mulching and fertilizing other crops. Plants reach a size of 15-20 ft at full maturity, and require very little care.
